This is our first visit to Portugal, so our expectations are based on what we have heard:
Portugal is cheap and fun (single guys).
The food is tasty and it is a sin not to taste some port wine (foodies).
Portugal is so cute, like a little brother to Spain (a Spaniard).
Looking forward to see for ourselves!
First stop: Faro. As we were leaving Sevilla, it was raining. Being spoilt from Andalusia, we desperately needed to get our daily dose of sun. Daddy spotted a patch of blue sky far in the distance, and it was decided – that’s our place for lunch. And so we ended up in Faro, the biggest town on the Algarve coast. Perfect place for an unplanned stop. Not too big to explore, easy to navigate, and sunny. There is not much to see in Faro except nice downtown, cathedral, and storks. What we loved though was the laid back atmosphere. Good start to our Portuguese part of road trip.
